The Dementia Interpreter course will give participants the opportunity to experience the same communication barriers that a person living with dementia may experience. A combination of live and self-study modules complete the Dementia Interpreter certification.
In this 3-hour course, use specially designed equipment and guided exercises to experience the communications barriers common among people living with dementia. As caregivers, it’s up to us to interpret their needs so that we can provide better care for those with dementia.
- Build empathy as you personally experience challenges in communications as the severity of dementia progresses.
- Learn strategies and techniques for adapting your communication approach.
- Continue learning with a self-study course and becoming a contributor to the globally curated Dementia Dictionary.
